Manrique Arguedas, Environmental Manager and Program Coordinator of the Rational Use of Resources Program at EARTH, commented that, “The initiative began with the purpose of offering broad knowledge about recycling in Costa Rica and to unify the country’s recyling industry to strengthen integrated waste management “.

The talks were for environmental managers of local governments and private companies, universities and recycling enterprises who are working in the environmental sector.

Parallel to this activity, during the week a group of volunteers, including students from EARTH, built a mural with plastic caps at Los Laureles Park in Pavas, Costa Rica. The construction of the wall is the first step in reclaiming the public space and building a skate park. Additionally, on May 17 there was a Recycling Fair at Morazan Park in downtown San Jose.
