Cristiano is professor of chemical processes to second-year students. He is an expert in bioprocesses applied to the addition of value to agro-industrial residues. His educational goals at EARTH are to train students to find sustainable answers for agricultural problems using the (bio) chemical sciences as technical tools. He holds a PhD in Bioproducts and Biosystems Science, Engineering, and Management from the University of Minnesota in the United States and a BSc in Industrial Chemical Engineering from the University of São Paulo. He has developed research projects in bioenergy production, separation and recovery of compounds, and treatment of residues via chemical and biochemical approaches.
