Teresa, originally from Ecuador, is the professor of Waste Management and serves as an advisor for the Work Experience course at EARTH. Teresa received a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Guayaquil, Ecuador, and completed her master’s studies in Integrated Watershed Management at CATIE in Costa Rica. She earned her Doctorate degree in Agricultural Sciences from the University of Costa Rica, graduating with honors. Her research, published in various scientific journals, covers topics including water erosion, soil moisture measurement and estimation, and the evaluation of soil conservation work efficiency. In her professional career, Teresa has worked as an environmental and water governance consultant on an international level. She has also held leadership roles in both the public and private sectors in companies related to waste management, environmental protection, and natural resource management.
