Humberto has a Ph.D. in Agronomy from the University of Missouri. He is the First-Year Academic Coordinator and a professor of Tropical Crops. His research concentrates on biological nitrogen fixation, the role of mycorrhizae in agroecosystems, the mineralization of organic fertilizers, crop growth models, and responses to phytohormones.
