Thirty year-old Respect is from the rural area of Harare, Zimbabwe. After both his parents died, Respect dropped out of university and began to support himself as a social agriculture entrepreneur. Seeing the need for change in his community, he formed a youth group revolving around agriculture, climate change, and entrepreneurship. That group became the nonprofit organization known as the Center for Agro Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Livelihoods Trust (CASL Trust). CASL Trust was able to expand with a grant of $50,000 from Global Environment Facilities development program. Respect is still highly involved in the leadership of CASL Trust from EARTH.

“I am coming to EARTH with so many goals. I want to take advantage of each and every opportunity. I am most interested in learning how to be more sustainable. That’s actually how I learned about EARTH. I was making a Google search about sustainable agriculture, and knew I needed to be here. My opportunity to be here is empowering me with the skills I need to make much-needed change. Everyone in my community knows that I am here, and they are waiting for me to bring my knowledge back.”
