Perseverança is from the city of Chimoio, the fifth largest city in Mozambique.

Although she grew up in an urban environment, Perseverança has always enjoyed working with animals and crops, and attended an agricultural institute where she gained a wide spectrum of experience in livestock management, veterinary science and crop production. She did several internships which brought her to rural communities all over Mozambique, opening her eyes to the reality of millions of people living in extreme poverty.

Perseverança is excited to continue her education in agriculture and be able to change lives as an agronomist. “I don’t want to work in a corporate office or anything like that, because in the end you are always working just for yourself or for a small group of people. I want to do something that involves an entire community so that the benefits are shared among many people.”
