Hajaratu was born and raised in Accra, Ghana, although her family comes from the northern part of the country, Tamale.
While she grew up in an urban setting, Hajaratu spent school vacations and other periods in her family’s home village where she participated in many agricultural activities. She felt very compelled to do this, not only out of her own personal interest, but also because she found it was the best way to get to know the people, by working alongside them.
One of the main things that interested her about EARTH is the practical education, and she looks forward to one day returning to her country to share her knowledge, and to starting her own rural-based business.
