Gustavo is from the town of Capitan de Bado, near the Brazilian border.
He chose to come to EARTH “because of its reputation and its way of teaching you to care about more than just yourself.”
Gustavo is eager to expand his knowledge of modern farming techniques and business management, so that one day he can create legitimate jobs in the agricultural sector in his community. “There is a severe lack of employment in Paraguay, forcing many people to work on illegal marijuana plantations to make ends meet. People know that what they are doing isn’t right, but they can’t justify choosing their morals over providing food for their children.”
