Ellina is from the city of Blantyre in Malawi and is the first in her family to study abroad. Her passion for agriculture and the environment lead her to EARTH, and when she found out she had been accepted she remembers, “My family was so very happy because they knew I had been given the chance to do what I love, and that I will return with an education and be able to help my family and my community.”
She is eager to learn how to run her own ethical enterprise and dreams of one day becoming a business owner in Malawi. “I want to be my own boss and open a farm so I can employ others. I want to inspire people with new ideas and set a good example that will motivate others to be their best. Agriculture is the backbone of our economy and I know that with my own business, I can be successful. There is lots of room for growth.”
