Yinari’s family is from the rural town of Isnos, Colombia.
After graduating from EARTH University, Yinari wants to address problems she has noticed in Colombia’s coffee industry. Small producers in her community tend to depend solely on coffee and if their crop fails, they are left with no source of income. Yinari has also noticed that there is fierce competition among coffee producers that ultimately ends in a loss of profit. She hopes to add crop diversity in the fields and create unity among producers in order to increase productivity and profitability. Yinari also hopes to start reforestation programs and create reserves to protect the forests from coffee growers who continually clear land in hopes of planting larger groves to yield larger profits.
