Joseph was born in a rural town in Western Zambia. He is the first in his family to attend university and study abroad. Joseph’s good grades helped him earn a full scholarship from the Kucetekera Foundation (KF) to attend high school. As Publicity Secretary for the Environmental Education club, he managed to engage with the Ministry of Agriculture to receive a donation of 500 trees to plant on campus.
Joseph heard about EARTH through the KF director, who put him in touch with a current Zambian EARTH student. He is looking forward to expanding his knowledge in sustainable agriculture and renewable energy. “Right now the economy in Zambia depends a lot on mineral extraction, like copper, but I think in the future we will really need strong agriculture industry. We import too much food from neighboring countries.”
