Grace grew up in eastern Uganda, partly in the city of Kampala and partly in a village two hours away. Grace’s high school education was funded by Mastercard. She was very active in her school and community, serving a vice chairperson of the Catholic Chair Council, school speaker, coordinator for her agriculture class, Mastercard scholarship coordinator, and class treasurer.
Grace has many plans for her future. “One day, I want to support an orphanage so that each child can afford to study and live. In my area, many people don’t get education. I think in my village, I am the second person to go past high school. If all goes well after my studies, what I want is to be a leader in agriculture in my area.”
