Forget is from a rural village in Zimbabwe. As a child, she worked on several of her family’s farm plots, helping to cultivate maize and vegetables for their own consumption. Throughout high school, Forget was an exemplary and involved student. She was the District Chairwoman for the Child Protection Committee and spent many hours raising awareness about children’s rights through drama and theatre workshops.
Forget learned about EARTH through a friend. She plans to use her education at EARTH to start her own farm which would serve as a model for local farmers and create much-needed employment in the economically depressed area. She is motivated to work within her community and become a transformational leader. “A good leader should not lead their people from afar. There is nothing that motivates people like seeing their boss in the trenches working with them.”
