Scholar: Esnai Cleanwell Munthali Scholar: Fatumah Birungi

Esnath, the youngest of seven siblings, is from a rural town in East Zimbabwe. Her parents grow maize, beans, and tobacco on farmland they were given in the 2001 land repatriation. She is the first in her family to attend university and study abroad. Since a young age, Esnath was motivated to make education a priority in her life. She was able to attend high school after receiving a scholarship from Campaign for Female Education (CAMFED). Though she was volunteering, farming, and raising her own family, Esnath never gave up on her dream of attending university.

While working at the CAMFED office she became aware of EARTH University and decided to apply. With her EARTH education, Esnath aspires to create much-needed jobs and promote sustainable farming methods in her country. “I believe if you have the right skills you can grow a strong business, and with the accounting skills that I already have plus the agronomy degree I’ll be getting from EARTH, I will be a great entrepreneur.”
