Moses is from the outskirts of the city of Blantyre, Malawi, where he grew up cultivating maize, cassava, and groundnuts on his family’s plot of land. This experience led him to study agriculture throughout high school. He was very active in volunteer and extracurricular activities and was class leader at his school. After graduating high school in 2012 with excellent test scores, Moses applied for national universities but couldn’t secure funding. He found EARTH University while browsing the Internet.
Moses is most excited to further develop his leadership skills and learn how to run his own business. “I’ve always wanted to become an entrepreneur and I read on the website that all students complete an entrepreneurial project. That matched so well with my long-term goals. EARTH induces an environment where you can discover your true potential as a leader, and I really look forward to that. I want to make the best out of it and become an agent of transformation.”
