Jorge spent his childhood on a small farm in the highland village of Chumbivilca, Peru, but moved to the city of Cuzco at the age of ten.
A professor in the local university told him about EARTH University. He loved the idea of self-directed learning in collaboration with highly experienced professors, as well as the concept of learning by doing, and so he applied.
After graduating from EARTH, he sees himself educating rural people about protecting the natural resources they have at the same time as they increase their agricultural productivity, and in this way he hope to help people to better their lives.
