Didier comes from Tablón de Gómez, a small agricultural town in southwestern Colombia. His love of farming began during his childhood, when he planted, cared for, and harvested the family´s crops with his father.
He later gained research experience when he completed a study of Andean fruit trees in his community, which he used to improve its agricultural practices. Didier also helped to organize the first Agro-Diversity Fair of the Andes, in the city of San Juan de Pasto.
Here at EARTH, he loves the hands-on experience his classes offer and appreciates living in a multicultural community.
He hopes to return to his home community and create a sustainable, innovative agricultural business that will offer his community a “worthier future.”
