Damoy grew up in Manchester, Jamaica, in a community of small-scale farmers.
After graduating from EARTH, Damoy hopes to contribute “back to the agricultural sector of the world, not only my country, giving back to the agricultural sector, improving the agricultural sector, utilizing resources that we have to make agriculture cheaper, because in Jamaica it’s very expensive to farm.” Damoy is most interested in finding a more affordable solution for animal feed. Right now the corn-based animal feed is very expensive and Damoy wants to explore different options, possibly using potatoes. He plans to own his own farm one day, with both cattle and crops. Damoy also sees women becoming successful in agriculture in Jamaica and wants to encourage the nation to be a part of the agricultural sector and help them realize how much they can achieve.
