Internships abroad change lives and open minds
One of the most exciting and definitive decisions in the life of an EARTH student comes during third year, when they must find the perfect place to carry out the 15-week internship that is required in order to graduate.
Students can choose to hone their talents in a particular field, with the hopes of becoming an expert, or venture into the unknown and look for new and unique experiences that will diversify their skillset. Finding the perfect internship might seem like a daunting task, but after many generations of EARTH interns working in over 20 countries around the world, there are many long-standing relationships with business and organizations that eagerly await the arrival of one or more intern every single year.
Deciding between returning home or going abroad is a hard choice to make, especially considering that many students have not seen their families since arriving in Costa Rica three years ago. But, matter what they choose, their experiences in the work place will provide a “crash course” in the realities of professional life that is vital to their success after graduation.
To find out how internships are changing lives and opening minds, read the following firsthand accounts from fourth-year EARTH students as they speak candidly about their experiences.
