Steven Brenes Prendas Yanine Chan Blanco


Victor is a forestry engineer with a masters of science (M.Sc.) in Forest Management with an emphasis on Forest Genetic Improvement from the Center of Forestry and Environmental Studies at the University of the Andes (ULA) in Venezuela. He has experience in forest inventory, environmental protection management, environmental impact studies, and teaching at the university level. Victor is the professor of Tropical Forestry and leader of the Forest Work Experience course. These courses are based on creating opportunities that allow students to obtain new skills, knowledge, and behaviors through self-exploration and experimentation. His principle areas of research include spatial analysis (geostatistics), forest biometry, tree breeding, forestry farms, and agroforestry systems. Victor is currently in charge of forest asset inventory at EARTH and coordinates three research projects both in the Guácimo and La Flor campuses.
