Humberto is a professor of Tropical Crops. Before coming to EARTH he worked at the Panamanian Department of Agriculture and also was Director of the National Program of Biodiversity at the Panamanian Institute of Natural Resources. He received his Ph.D. in agronomy (minor sustainable agriculture and agroforestry) from the University of Missouri-Columbia, USA. M.Sc. in Crop Systems and Plant Breeding from the Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center (CATIE) at Costa Rica; MBA in Business Administration from the Central American Autonomous University (UACA) at Costa Rica. Humberto received his Lic. in Agronomy from the University of Panama at Panama.
