Training for business development

Entrepreneurship is increasingly acknowledged as a powerful engine for economic development in rural communities by improving the local economy, creating jobs and promoting positive change.  EARTH’s Open Classroom Program provides free business training to help community members start and maintain new businesses.

Nearly 250 local community members have participated in this training as well as 35 teachers from technical high schools throughout Costa Rica.

Through a program with the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation for Development, EARTH is working on the development of sustainable markets in northern Costa Rica and have provided training to more than 550 small farmers and microenterprises.  Learn more about Promes here
