“EARTH University” of Costa Rica, in collaboration with the German higher education institutions: “Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin” (HTW) and “Technische Universität Hamburg Harburg” (TU HH), are pleased to announce the International Workshop on “Sustainable Rural Energy Supply Solutions – Agro-waste as an Energy Source for Biogas Production”. Bioenergy is one of the most important renewable energy sources in the region and the sector is being accessed as a long-term target market in the region. In order to develop a sustainable energy supply in the region, the capabilities of the private sector as the driver of investments and the public sector, such as policy and research institutes, need to be brought together. Furthermore, the workshop will contribute to achieve a better coordination and cooperation between science institutions, technology developers, and decision makers from the policy and industry environment in the field of sustainable bioenergy utilization.

Within the workshop the participants will establish a science-bridge in the bioenergy sector between leading research institutions of Europe and Latin America.
