EARTH University’s efforts are becoming well known outside Costa Rican borders. This time, Food Tank made a list of the 40 organizations shaking up the way we eat, plus, the way we harvest, sell, cook and buy food.
The list includes numerous internationally recognized and well respected organizations like the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Food and Water Watch, Food First, Latin American and Caribbean Center for Rural Women, and World Food Program, among others.
EARTH is known worldwide for our bananas, which are produced using our environmentally-friendly production practices and fair and safe labor conditions. In addition, profits from the sales of our bananas contribute go directly towards providing a world class education in sustainable agriculture, natural resources management and ethical entrepreneurship to young entrepreneurs. The University also grows many other crops on campus that are used for our own consumption at the cafeteria.
