Professors from the Agricultural Development Trust of India who came to EARTH for training in the University’s innovative educational model.

From November 23-29, EARTH will host distinguished educators Sandeep P. Gaikwad, Pranavsingh R. Patil, Suryakant M. Mundhe, Amol R. Ghodke and Arun M. Puri from the Agricultural Development Trust in India. They have come to the University for an intensive course on EARTH’s innovative educational model, with the goal of implementing a similar model in the Trust’s schools and colleges.

During their visit, they will receive training from EARTH professors in the student-centered learning method and will tour the University’s academic farms and laboratories to see how University students benefit from an experiential education.

Pranavsingh R. Patil, Assistant Professor of Agronomy at the College of Agriculture, explains “The Trust focuses on development and progress and we are always looking for innovative things we can incorporate in our institution,” adding that “EARTH is focused on the ethics of human beings, which is rarely seen elsewhere. These students are educated to provide a service to society; they aren’t learning to get a job, rather they are learning to create jobs.”
