EARTH was one of the four universities representing Costa Rica at the NAFSA 2014 Annual Conference and Expo in San Diego, California.

From May 25-30, EARTH University, along with Veritas University, the Latin American University of Science and Technology (ULACIT) and the Iberoamerican University (UNIBE) represented Costa Rica at the 2014 Annual Conference and Expo of the National Association for Foreign Student Affairs (NAFSA) in San Diego, California. The four universities’ participation was coordinated by the Costa Rican Foreign Trade Corporation (PROCOMER). The yearly event is the largest gathering of international educators in the world, hosting over 8,000 participants from  the United States, Brazil, Japan, South Korea, Poland, Malaysia and Spain, to name a few.

Currently, Costa Rica is the number one study abroad destination in Latin America for U.S. students, and the study abroad industry represents a growing and important sector of the national economy.

Nico Evers, Director of the International Academic Relations Office, represented EARTH throughout the event and affirms that “The NAFSA conference is an excellent way to maintain contact with our existing partners, and of course explore possible future collaborations with new universities from all over the world. It is also an important opportunity to gain insight on current trends and developments in the international education field.”
