On November 27, the EARTH University Carbon Neutral Unit received official notification from the Costa Rican Accreditation Entity (ECA) that the Unit has been accredited at a national and international level to check and validate greenhouse gases.

As part of this accreditation, EARTH is able to continue verifying emission inventories of greenhouse gases and the carbon neutrality of companies and projects, as well as verify specific projects in the industrial, agriculture, forestry, animal production and land use sectors, among others.

The process that companies undergo to achieve carbon neutrality requires a high level of corporate responsibility and a change in  culture. In 2009, EARTH University created the Carbon Neutral Unit to lead this commitment.
