Peruvian alumnus receives award from the College of Engineers

On July 8, 2013 EARTH alumnus Ronal Corver Gomringer (’97, Peru) was awarded the “Order of Engineering” by the College of Engineers of Peru (CIP in Spanish). The ceremony was held during Engineering Week in Lima, Peru from July 3-9.

The prestigious award is given to outstanding professionals in the field of engineering in recognition of an exceptional career.

Ronald has more than 13 years of experience in research and technical assistance projects, and has also worked in environmental education, environmental impact assessment, and water and soil management and conservation.

He currently works at the Peruvian Amazon Research Institute as a consultant on a project entitled, “Chestnut Production System in Madre de Dios.” His work focuses on the genetic improvement of chestnuts to aid development in the Madre de Dios region in Peru.
