Spanish communication program

The EARTH professional should understand and demonstrate
a command of oral, written, non-verbal and audiovisual communication
that facilitates the synthesis of information, feelings and beliefs.
COM 101 Introduction to Communication
The student enhances his/her ability to listen
and read by studying communication principles and techniques. The
student is encouraged to critically analyze what he/she reads, so
he/she can broaden his/her vocabulary and express him/herself with
more clarity and certainty, in writing as well as orally and with
non-verbal language.
Two hours of class per week.
COM 102 Written Communication
In this course, the student strengthens his/her
written communication abilities, learning about the form and the
content of the message and knowing the target audience. He/she also
analyzes and investigates the elements and structure of letters,
memorandums, reports, and other written documents.
Two hours of class per week.
COM 103 Oral Communication Workshop
The student develops the capacity to identify,
analyze, and improve his/her abilities and skills in the art of
oral communication. The course focuses on oral communication as
an activity that the student will develop in a continual and dynamic
manner throughout his/her life.
The workshop consists of a combination of individual
attention and seminar sessions. Through the activities of the workshop,
the student acquires the necessary skills and must demonstrate an
advanced ability to communicate orally. During the 2nd year, the
student will have to demonstrate those abilities to receive credit
for the class.
