External Relations
Welcome!

With the purpose of promoting EARTH University
externally, contribute to strengthen it’s image and develop
strategies to set up a Fundraising campaign that will give educational
opportunities to young Latin American leaders the office of External
Relations was created in 1990.
One of EARTH's main goals is to offer educational opportunities
to students of diverse nationalities and socioeconomic backgrounds.
This is especially significant with a student body made up largely
of young men and women from rural communities in the humid tropics
of Latin America.
Abriendo el horizonte de oportunidades
The relentless poverty of these regions makes it nearly
impossible for students' families to contribute financially to their
education.
A financial assistance plan was therefore developed to enable individuals,
companies, governments and development agencies to provide full
or partial scholarships to EARTH students.
Costs and Scholarships
The cost of the holistic education offered at EARTH is $27,200 per
student for
those entering in January 2007. The University covers $13,700 of
this total,
meaning that the cost for a student who pays full tuition is just
$13,500 per
year.
In order to maintain its philosophy of offering educational opportunities
to
young people from the Latin American tropics - regions often characterized
by socioeconomic limitations - EARTH has developed a scholarship
policy
whereby 20% of all students pay their own cost (tuition, materials,
room and
board), ), 30% receive partial scholarships based on need, and 50%
receive
full scholarships.
A total of 1, 747 students entered the University between 1990
and 2006. Of
these, 1,373, or 79%, have received full or partial scholarships.
EARTH has
been able to achieve this goal thanks to the generosity of dozens
of donors
who share the University's vision of educating professionals who
will be able
to address the challenges facing today's society.
