The role of the Rector's Office is to see that
all sectors of the University contribute to the institutional mission.
The Office includes the following departments:
Human Resources
The human being is the reason for all of the institution's
projects and activities. The goal of the Human Resources department
is therefore to promote holistic growth and improve the quality
of life within the EARTH community.
Special Projects
Generating knowledge through an innovative spirit is a priority
for the institution. This department acts as a catalyst for the
development of new ideas and projects that incorporate the elements
of sustainability.
Alumni Program
Our graduates represent the outcome of our work.
The Alumni Program supports their efforts to promote new development
models in the humid tropics by promoting holistic growth and cooperation
between EARTH and its graduates.
Communications
Appropriate management of the University's communications
with its external and internal audiences is fundamental to the achievement
of institutional goals.

Formation of the Leaders of the Future: Strengthen the formative
program of future leaders through the development of a new
kind of entrepreneurial spirit with social and environmental
responsibility; a capacity for promoting sustainable systems
and adding value to productive processes and the ability to
communicate effectively in Spanish and English in order to
be able to contribute to sustainable and human development.. |

Excellency in Human Resources: Offer competitive conditions,
stability, professional and personal quality of life in order
to attract and maintain an international faculty and highly
qualified personnel committed to the institution's philosophy
and values. Strengthen the skills of faculty members and employees
in strategic areas. |

In Search of the "EARTH Student": Offer educational
opportunities to qualified young people, giving priority to
those of scare resources and from rural areas, while at the
same time maintaining a student population distinguished by
its social, cultural, economic and gender diversity; with
ethical values, maturity, leadership, vocation and academic
potential. |

Research for Change: Strengthen the generation and diffusion
of knowledge in order to contribute to the sustainable development
of the Humid Tropics, and aid the learning process at EARTH.

At the Forefront in Information Technology: Be at the forefront
in information systems, technology and information management
in order to contribute to academic excellency, the optimization
of institutional operations and external projection. |

Infrastructure for the Long Term: Guarantee that the infrastructure,
equipment and systems are up-to-date and maintained in optimum
condition, and that they respond to the needs of the institution
in achieving its mission. |

Financial Capacity for the Future: Guarantee financial resources
for the institution's operation and growth, and to increase
the endowment fund in order to reduce the dependency on annual
fund raising efforts; thus ensuring educational opportunities
for young people of scare resources. |

International Status: Achieve an international legal status
that assures stability to the institution in all areas. |
9.
Natural Resources as the Basis of Sustainable
Development: Succeed in positioning EARTH internationally
for its actions and contributions toward conservation and
the sustainable use and renovation of natural resources, including
reforestation. |

Graduates Committed to Their Communities: Achieve a greater
contribution on behalf of EARTH's graduates toward the sustainable
development of their communities and countries. |
