The Agricultural University of the Humid Tropical Region [EARTH]
(hereafter, “University”) was created as a non-profit
institution by Law #7044, which was passed by the Legislative Assembly
of the Republic of Costa Rica on September 9, 1986. Article 8 of
that law indicates that the University will operate under the direction
of a Board of Directors.
Article 9 indicates that in addition to a Board of
Directors, there will be a Board of Trustees that will administer
and invest the University’s endowment fund, as well as review
the fund’s implementation and inspect the use of the funds
as specified in Article 9.
